no updates for a month? what the hell is wrong here? well, the band has been hitting it pretty hard in the past month. johnny's back from maryland. the entire band is back in full rehearsal, so some new songs have been coming up! if you get to the shows, you will hear some new tunes in the months to come.

in other news, french cinema and television magazine arkanium recently did an article on feel love fury and their involvement with dawson's creek. the article is in french, but we thought it would be interesting to post scans of the magazine here nonetheless. written by patricia cazeaux, the five page spread can be viewed HERE. the images are large for the preservation of quality, so those of you with slow connections will have to be patient...

just a bit of news... the schedule of live dates has undergone a bit of change. charlie's in hampstead, nc lost its lease, so all shows there have been cancelled. all confirmed august shows have been added to the live dates page. also, a few dates have been added to june and july, so check it out. we're playing out quite a bit right now. our new, insane, little drummer has been in baltimore as of late, flying back on weekends for gigs, but he will be returning soon and we will be tweaking the new material that we have been gathering over the past several months. stay on the page with us, and you will be seeing some new children. be well and please come hang soon. until then...

this past weekend, the wilmington music scene lost one of our own. jt jacobs, conga player for the wilmington band, moe black, died on friday as a result of an unfortunately jet ski accident. details haven't been published as of today, but we wish to offer our condolences to the friends and families of jt and moe black. it's a time like this that should make people realize how important it is to put our differences aside and realize how truly precious life is. this is a great loss to the music scene here and the world at large. we'll miss you jt.

so, they are now holding the dawson's creek music awards on the dawsonscreekmusic.com website. for the most part, independent artists don't get considered in these types of things, so the exception to the rule is the all-powerful write-in vote. please take the time to write in a vote for feel love fury's music for the song of the year category with the songs what the hell, seductive sexy, 194, or leadbelly (doesn't matter which), and if you're so inclined, feel free to write in feel love fury as favorite new artist as well. thanks for your support of the process and of the work of independent artists everywhere.

what a great weekend! the band's trip up to southern pines was better even than we had hoped. our first time in this little town, but the people there are so supportive of live music. thanks to all our new friends there. we'll be seeing you again soon. saturday night was different, to say the least. charlie's supper club in hampstead is huge! the sound system is massive. the crowd was fairly small, but all old friends and new friends of the band. setlists were placed on the tables and everyone shouted out the songs that they wanted to hear. the band only planned on playing an hour or so, but everyone was getting rowdy, so the set lasted over two hours and everyone went home satisfied. sunday was amazing. flf was the first band in a string of many to play the benefit for maggie. many great people showed up and overwhelmingly showed their support for live music and for the cause. the energy was so collective and so strong. what a great chance to make a difference. in case you missed it, here's what happened. in other news, flf continues to play more and more live shows. come out and hang with the new generation of feel love fury.

message dated wednesday 15 may 2002

well, the past several days have been great. flf played the hometown once and raleigh twice, and everyone has been so very cool and welcoming to the band's return to the live stages. level 5 was great after changing channels last thurs. the crowd was rowdy and bought more shots per capita for the band than any show to date. saturday at jillian's was cool. it's going to be a happening place in the future. everyone should check out the beach they've built outside. great place to hang. last night at pourhouse was great. seems that the raleigh people do actually come out on a tuesday night and party hard. nearly everyone hung in until the end. thanks to everyone who came out to support the band this past weekend, including all of our family (cath, gregg, superstars, rob, algernon, stevie g, frank, bruce, and others). thanks to justin and level 5, jillian's, pourhouse, and innovative for getting behind us. thanks to moe black and round two (the boys that know how to rock and load gear) for sharing the stage with flf. one final note... this weekend's shows will entail some traveling. we encourage you all to come out to these new venues. live music is the source! this will be proven at the end of the weekend when area musicians will come together for a good cause not to be missed! read more here. rock out.

message dated thursday 25 april 2002

apparently, while not everyone was paying strict attention, another episode of dawson's creek featuring feel love fury was aired. last night, on the wb network, the band made their fourth and final appearance of this season on episode #520, "separate ways (worlds apart)." according to dawsonscreekmusic.com, this show means that not only does feel love fury hold the record for the most songs featured in one episode, but they also hold the record for the most songs in season five. there won't be any word for sometime as to whether the band will have any more involvement with the taping of the show. in the meantime, you can check the band out live if you can make it into the area. stay tuned...

message dated thursday 18 april 2002

well, dates are currently being made and confirmed to warm the band up for summer shows. the dates will soon be coming more frequent and will be more widespread. the news on recorded music is this (for all who have inquired)... we are sold out of the source cd. there will be no more copies available at shows or stores. the few hundred that are still out there are tied up in online distribution, so they will still be available on a few sites out there and will still be available as an mp3 cdr at the flf mp3.com site. source will not be entering another print, so the discs that are out there are the last ones. cd baby is the easiest and best place to order one of the last 100 or so copies of source that are available. as for a new disc, have patience. rumours have it that by the year's end, some new recorded material will be available for mass consumption. in the meantime, soak up the energy at the shows and may the force be with you always...

message dated monday 01 april 2002

happy april fool's day... the best holiday of the year, in which we spend our time consumed with making each other look and feel like total idiots. not that it's a good segue or anything, but members of feel love fury will be appearing in their third episode of dawson's creek on the wb network this wednesday, april 3 at 8:00 pm est. don't be confused if you hear stefan's voice but do not see him in the show. this is the episode where the singer and the rest of the "band" get into an argument and the character played by katie holmes joins the band for a show. should be nothing short of interesting. everyone in flf recorded the music for the show, but only darell and jesse actually made it on camera, so check them out. for more details on the dawson's creek involvement, go here.

last night's debut show at the firebelly was great. lots of people traveled in to catch the reincarnation. thanks to firebelly and sycamore grove for being a part of the process. the energy that the band is feeling can not really be described. kinda like being reborn. unfortunately, it will be our last show at the firebelly. seems that due to some complaints from a pestering resident of the same building, firebelly will no longer be able to afford live music and noise ordinance violations. the wilmington bureaucracy has spoken and will not lift a finger to prevent such atrocities from taking place. if you have the time and are motivated, please make your feeling known on this issue if you are less than indifferent to the death of music in wilmington, north carolina. feels like a rerun of footloose or something around here.

just over a week ago the band taped its final appearance on this season of dawson's creek. it appears that the band on the show is going on tour and so the fate of the television band still hangs in the balance. however, the real feel love fury continues to go on strong. nearly all old songs have been reworked and some new originals and covers have made their way into the set. be sure to catch the band out live in a couple of weeks. it will be april before any of you will be able to catch the members on television again, as the wb network is currently running reruns. on that note, the guys finally found out what the name of the band is on dawson's creek. apparently aggressive mediocrity is the name of choice, much to the amusement of everyone involved. feel love fury wants to thank everybody in production, in the cast, and in the crew of dawson's creek. most specifically, thanks to chad, katie, and busy for working with us in the studio. thanks to tommy and audio genesis for recording us, thanks to the great directors and writers for their contributions and support, and thanks to dale and greg for getting behind and staying behind the band. maybe we'll see you next season, depending on how chad's stint as the lone ranger goes. see you all out very soon.

message dated tuesday 26 february 2002

well, the band went back into audio genesis yesterday to lay down two tracks for their fourth appearance on dawson's creek. one song was an acoustic cover song that was sung by chad michael murray. the other was a feel love fury cover of the ramones' song i wanna be sedated. the episode in which the songs will be used is being filmed wednesday in downtown wilmington. the entire band will be in this episode, as stefan was written back into the show. in other news, feel love fury will not be playing their first show back on st. patrick's day show with the connells. instead, the band will be playing their first show with the new lineup on thursday, march 28th at the firebelly in downtown wilmington. more details will follow, so check back soon..

message dated tuesday 19 february 2002

well, it's official. after what will have been over six months away from the stage, feel love fury will once again return playing live. on saint patrick's day 2002, the band will be taking the stage as support for the illustrious connells. the official date is sunday, march 17 at the firebelly lounge in feel love fury's hometown of wilmington, north carolina. feel love fury will be hitting the stage at around 10 pm. keep an eye out for presale tickets, because this one is predicted to be a capacity crowd. there will be more dates to come, but for now, the band is going to ease back into the scene, so make plans to be a part of it...

message dated monday 04 february 2002

the filming of the latest appearance of members of the band for the series dawson's creek is complete. no official word yet, but rumour has it that this will not be their last appearance. feel love fury wishes to thank everyone in the cast and crew of dawson's creek for being so cool and supportive on the set and in the studio. in other news, the long hiatus from playing live is rapidly coming to a close. the first live date for feel love fury in over six months will happen in march. stay tuned for details on that and other upcoming shows, and other random, pertinent information...

message dated friday 25 january 2002

darell, jesse, stefan, and local drummer john mashburn again ventured into audio genesis studio yesterday to lay down instrumental tracks and background vocals for the cover song i hate myself for loving you for an upcoming episode of dawson's creek. the session, engineered by tommy brothers and overseen by dawson's creek producer greg prange, went like clockwork, and everyone is extremely pleased with the track. stefan will be working saturday with actors katie holmes and chad murray on their respective vocal parts. the show will be shot on monday and wednesday of next week. details on its airing will follow. in other news, the band is anticipating playing live shows again in the next couple of months. in the meantime, check the live dates page for upcoming acoustic appearances by members of the band. stay tuned. more to come...

message dated monday 21 january 2002

well, the band finally received word about working on another episode of dawson's creek. the band will again be heading into the audio genesis domain to record music for their next appearance on the show at the end of this week. however, the plot of the episode has taken a twist... turns out that the singer on the show (played by stefan) leaves the band and joey (played by katie holmes) joins the band as the new singer. oh, the drama. this gives stefan the distinct experience of being the first member of the band to be written out of a television show. fortunately, the entire band will be involved in the recording sessions. in other news, the band still continues to gear up for their upcoming return to playing live. stay tuned for more details...
