NOW AVAILABLE FOR STREAMING
The
original members of Feel Love Fury recorded their first
official release in the summer of 1999 with Ronnie Brothers
of the old Audio Genesis Studios in their hometown of
Wilmington, North Carolina. This full-length compilation,
aptly titled source, became merely a glimpse of
what was to come.
The
band spent the next three years exploring their sound
and playing live relentlessly, playing hundreds of shows
all over the southeast in support of this album.
During
this time, a few thousand copies of source were consumed
by people all over America, Canada, and Europe, as a result
of sales at the shows and through the band's website.
Their
next recording sessions came as a result of the band being
chosen to play live on the Warner Brothers television
show, Dawson's Creek. Songs from source
were used in the soundtrack of the show, but the choice
to use additional, yet unrecorded songs led Feel Love
Fury back into the studio to lay down versions of Seductive
Sexy and What the Hell for use on Dawson's
Creek. Once they were in the studio, they just were
not ready to leave.
MORE
ABOUT FEEL LOVE FURY'S INVOLVEMENT ON DAWSON'S CREEK
Everyone
was in agreement that it was time for a new release. So,
under the watchful eye of Audio Genesis engineer Tommy
Brothers, Feel Love Fury began laying down demo tracks
to entice support from the industry in their new endeavour.
A
copy of the demo cd soon made it into the hands of veteran
engineer and producer Jeff Tomei (Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox
20, Jerry Cantrell), and after a brief talk, Jeff decided
to jump on the project.
Two
months later, in early December 2002, Jeff Tomei was in
Wilmington, busy in pre-production with Feel Love Fury.
The process was tedious, but highly productive.
After
five days in the studio, the five tracks were complete.
Two of the songs, 194 and Lessons, are new
versions of tracks from the source album. They had undergone
such a change from their previous versions that all felt
it warranted re-recording. The three other songs, What
the Hell, Say Goodbye, and Of Emotion,
were chosen from the demo sessions.
The
Feel Love Fury ep was mastered by Rodney Mills (Rage Against
the Machine, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots) and will
be released sometime in late spring 2003.
